This is Trump’s colonial plan for Gaza

By Iman Abid, USCPR Action’s Director of Organizing & Advocacy

After meeting with Netanyahu yesterday, Trump unveiled an outrageous proposal that seeks to illegally carve up Palestinian land in Gaza and hand it over to Israel, Trump, and other foreign countries. All in violation of U.S. and international law.

Make no mistake: This is NOT a “peace” plan. It’s a colonialism plan—a clear blueprint for land theft, cruelly used as a bargaining chip in ceasefire negotiations. It’s designed to buy more time for Israel to evade accountability and keep committing genocide.

The only people who should be in charge of Palestinian land are Palestinians, period.

Trump’s Colonialism Plan: At-A-Glance

Some of the most disturbing parts of Trump’s 20-point colonialism plan include:

  • Establishing a foreign board to supervise Gaza’s governance, headed and chaired by war criminal Trump himself while also including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, known for backing the violent U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.¹

  • Israeli soldiers staying in Gaza and controlling its borders for the foreseeable future, solidifying Israeli military occupation and rule over Palestinians there, as well as continuing Israel’s total siege of Gaza, in violation of international law.² Netanyahu already announced that Israeli troops will remain in most of Gaza.³

  • Failing to address the root cause of violence—Israel’s brutal oppression of the Palestinian people—and Israel’s total impunity as it has broken countless ceasefires.

Israel’s Netanyahu immediately followed the plan with a violent threat to “finish the job” and complete the genocide if the terms weren’t accepted, a statement Trump readily endorsed, before the plan had even been presented to Palestinian negotiators.⁴

You and I know the truth: If Trump actually wanted peace, he wouldn’t be arming Israel with an endless supply of weapons to mass murder the Palestinian people. After all, he just authorized an extra $6 billion weapons package a couple weeks ago.⁵

How To Fight Back

This week, I ask you to gather in community with us and fight back, for the sake of all our communities. Join the Stop ICE & Block the Bombs Power Hour on Thursday, October 2 at 12 PM ET / 9 AM PT. Can you make it?

Together our movements will unite to demand both:

  1. An end to illegal ICE kidnappings of people in our communities

  2. An end to the U.S.’s illegal funding of a genocide abroad.

JOIN THE POWER HOUR

If you saw the photos circulating of Israeli war criminal Netanyahu’s embarrassing speech at the United Nations last Friday, where delegates walked out en masse, then you know Israel has become increasingly isolated on the international stage as it commits genocide and apartheid. A pariah state.

We must do everything in our power to fight for justice and freedom. Remind Congress that the vast majority of U.S. voters want our tax dollars to fund our communities, not mass murder, apartheid, and genocide abroad.

The two-year anniversary of the start of the genocide on October 7th is just a week away.

We can’t look away.

We can’t give an inch to wannabe authoritarians.

We must act.

Join our Power Hour on Thursday, October 2. Let’s keep fighting and build collective power together.
